worst one i ever saw was in a ford 302 @ about 5000rpm. when the bottom end let go apparently a piece of the rod went up in between cylinders and took out the cam.

4 pieces lol.

we were taking apart the engine to salvage what we could when we found the cam all torn up. one of the pieces was a single lobe all by itself

my friend uses it to this day as his favorite paperweight.

can break a few ways... one of the most common i have seen as a mechanic is lack of lubrication

can we get a grammer check here?

anyways i think you ment "cams break due to lack of lub caused by a shitty mechanic"

still not sure what you ment but cams can break where the cam and the cam gear meets if a mechanic uses
TOO MUCH lubercation on the cam gear bolt IE anti seeze. extra lub will give you incorrect torque reading
and will over torque the **** which later it will break.

hahaha sorry guys... i was saying a cam can break a few ways.. the shop i work for sees a lot of this.. cars come in all the time for warranty work .. .. most of the time they are not covered for this problem cause the warranty companies get the customers for lack of lubrication.. ..

Within the last two months I have ran across this problems with my friends. Once in a nissan sentra and the other on a d15. Both broke in the middle of the cam and they had a good bit of miles on the engine.

i dont get it. am i supposed to laugh at this? anyways who's boy is this trying to teach me something:

sting94112 (5:54 AM 2/10/2004): still not sure what you ment but cams can break where the cam and the cam gear meets if a mechanic uses
TOO MUCH lubercation on the cam gear bolt IE anti seeze. extra lub will give you incorrect torque reading
and will over torque the **** which later it will break.

Grammar check please.
sting94112 (6:03 AM 2/10/2004): grammer not spelling. thanks

Define grammar.
Mr. Choi (8:25 PM 2/10/2004): using lube will give you different torque reading. you can get the same amount of torque but get a greater clamping force.
Mr. Choi (8:25 PM 2/10/2004): still on the grammer grammar thing huh.
sting94112 (8:42 PM 2/10/2004): Not the spelling. But the fact that you comment the other guy for grammar. And yet you wrote, "still not sure what you ment but cams can break where the cam and the cam gear meets if a mechanic uses
TOO MUCH lubercation on the cam gear bolt IE anti seeze. extra lub will give you incorrect torque reading
and will over torque the **** which later it will break."
sting94112 (8:43 PM 2/10/2004): grammar[noun] the study of language as a body of word that exhibit regualarityor structure and arrangement into sentences.
Mr. Choi (9:35 PM 2/10/2004): if you dont understand what i wrote, why dont you give it a try and see what happens. take some anti seeze and spread it over the cam gear bolt and torque it to specs.

good try.

I have been hearing some bad reviews on the crower cams for B-series. How long did he have the cams for?
