Default A harness question

Ok heres the deal, i picked up a hatch off a kid for real cheap. He did an auto to

manual swap and im assuming he did it the wrong way. He wired up a switch to the

starter to get the car started. I wanted to eliminate the switch and wire it up right so i

took off the center console to get to the auto shifter switch; what i found was an

uncut/unmodified connector/plug. I then started to wonder how i was able to get the

key out without the corresponding modification done to the wires. I hooked up

the wires like its supposed to be done ( with the two big blacks for start and others for key removal).

Nothing. So I start looking around at the ignition and what not, looked fine to me. I

did notice a grey 8 pin, 7 wire connector without a home, just lying by the clutch

pedal. I looked around for its home but could not find it. Does anyone have any idea

where this plug goes? I am assuming that it is ignition related since i can remove the

key and also because when i hook the wires to start the car i get no start.

I hope the double space helps.. thanks. ps car is 92 dx hatch
