harmonic balancer

Re: harmonic balancer (93EJ1gsr)
Pull the fuse for your ignition, put a socket on the bolt (at least 1/2'') with a breaker bar and turn the key once over. Your starter will break it loose I have never had any problems. There is a chance you could shear the teeth off your starter or flywheel but it hasn't happen yet to me.

the tool idea is the safer of the two methods but those tools are expensive, and how many times is he gonna use it. i have that tool and only use it cause i own it if not i just get away with gunning them off. my best suggestion is to get a stronger gun, it will come off.

then i guess it's specialty tool shopping time for you. i have done countless water pumps and timing belts on hondas and never really had to use it except once thats why i own it. i have seen a cheaper version of the honda crank tool that requires two breaker bars i suggest that one cause it's less than a $100 bucks usually like 60~75. but also make sure your crank pulley has a six sided pattern around the crank pulley bolt cause i have seen some crank pulleys that don't and thats how the tool keeps the pulley from turning. or theres also spark plug stoppers that bolt in like spark plugs but there long and will stop the motor from completing a revolution allowing you to pry as hard as you like with out the motor turning.
