Is there pressure / freon in the system? If there is, take it to a shop and have it pumped out. The condensor, compressor and hoses then pretty much just unbolt.

It's not all hard, all depends on skill level. Just be sure you want to get rid of it. For the minimal amount of gains, I would never get rid of mine. Like to be cool in the summer and I like my windows defrosting quickly in the winter. Be careful when evaporating the freon, it would be best to have it evacuated by a professional. Probably take you about 2-3 hours to remove all the A/C equip. Good Luck!!!!

It's against the law to release the refrigerant into the atmosphere. Take it to an A/C shop and have the system vacuumed. After that, if you don't plan to remove the evaporator behind the dash, it wouldn't take you longer than an hour to do properly, depending on skill level of course.

I would suggest collecting it in a bag and letting it warm up. Then release it into your lungs so it is filtered before it is release into that atmosphere.
