Is it hard to install stainless steel brake lines?
Hey,
I did a search and found some info, but not on what I was looking for...I'm trying to replace my lines with stainless steel ones...are they hard to install? About how long does it take? And do you just replace a part of the brake line, or the whole thing from the master cylinder down to each wheel? And can you use them with stock wheel cylinders and stock calipers? Somebody told me I needed to have an upgraded brake system, but I'm not too sure on how valid that is...Thanks.

The metal lines from the MC run to the wheel wells. Then a rubber hose connects to the metal lines and goes to the calipers. SS lines only replace the rubber lines. It should be simple enough to install them and you don't need upgraded/aftermarket brake setup to do so. Just get some quality brake fluid because you will have to bleed the brakes after installation. Also be careful with the brake fluid, it will damage your paint.

It's an easy swap. Just bleed the system REALLY REALLY REALLY well before trying to take a corner @ 80mph.

Pick up a 10mm flare nut wrench before you get to work. Will make things a lot easier.
