hard decision
i have a 93 del sol that looks like this
i bought it for 275
it does not run but i have a body kit side fenders and a hood for it
i just bought and 91 acura integra that has a B18A1 and it runs great. idk if i should fix up the integra or swap motors and finish the del sol?
opinions appreciated

Re: hard decision (remedyz12965)
the integra is completely stripped, bumper is broken, window motors are gone(window is held up by pieces of wood), and massive amounts of bondo. the del sol is as is
i guess what im really asking is would the integra be faster or the del sol with the integra engine

Re: hard decision (remedyz12965)
its nicknamed a Del Slow for a reason... lol
I recommend that you use the del slow if the body is that messed up on the Integra. but its personal preference. which 1 would u rather be seen in on the streets?

negative that transmission is cable, you'll need to buy a hydro one. not to mention a new ecu, a few motor mounts, and various other small things.

Re: hard decision (.Grimace)
i'd sell both and get a eg/dc chassis. Like the other guy said, its called a del slow for a reason. And I'd deffinately get a hydro tranny if u were going to put the ls in the del sol. Plus get all the right mounts, injectors, obd1 ls ecu, 94+ teg axles and half shaft, 94+ dizzy (or just rewire yours, they also have a plug adapter). just to name a few things. good luck.

dude, go with the del sol. swap the motor, you could build it up and make it really fast man. and when you're all done, you del sol could look like this
with a boosted b18 in it, how bad *** would that be? 120% bad ***, that's how much.

Re: hard decision (austinkli)
of all the front end conversions i've seen , thats the first time I've seen this one. It actually looks kinda natural on that car.

Re: hard decision (reaction360)
del sol's are not that heavy. Do some reshearch. 2200 some odd pounds for the S-model and with the open air feeling of the targa top...you can't beat it!

Its been done a few times before,a few weeks ago there was some guy on here wanted to know how to do it.
Personally Id leave the original front on it,drop the integra motor in it,fix it up and sell it off..If the worst some rice boy will buy it then you can part out whats left of the integra..

Yeah man, either see what you can get for both cars together, or stick with the Del Slow, it can be a really fun car if you don't mind the looks.

that was me that wanted to know how to do it. It's in no way cost affective, but it's so worth it to me, i just think that is a really clean look. but i'm not tryin to thread jack, just wanted the op to see what a cool lookin del sol could look like cruisin around with your targa top back with all that air, it's sweet man. do the del sol. all the way.

Re: hard decision (delslo93)
idk why everyone is down on the slo, this is the del sol forum and by the looks of it everyone on here has a slo, so let the guy choose, but i think you may have picked a kind of one sided forum to posts this in, see what happens when you post in an integra forum!!! GL on the Del sol and putting in the B18

Re: hard decision (remedyz12965)
You made a good decision.
Del sol's can be fast & they handle well. The only real downfall i see is that
if you have an 'S' model without powersteering and do a B swap you've got 100+ more lbs to turn
and that is kind of a pain in the ***. Plus, del sol's are very bumpy cars because of their size.
That del sol front end conversion is sick!! I want to do that to mine!! Gonna start hunting for info NOW

There have been a million people on this site who asked how to do the same exact conversion on the same exact car.
I'm glad you decided to get rid of the del Sol. It sounds like it might need someone a little more committed to a restoration on a vehicle, not just modifications.
EDIT: I could have sworn the second post said the del Sol had all those problems, not the Integra.

Re: hard decision (NOFX)
alright, im not trying to flame you man.
but the DA integra is messed.................... and DEL SOL is fine............ no struc damage it's all cosmetic.
alot of people here don't under stand that civics look like *** without body panels....they are not 32 fords where they look sweeeeet with a 2-4" chop and stripped.
also all you need for the sol is......tires..........panels (trade the kit ofr stock like that guy mentioned abouve)
get that d16z6 or y8 running...........
sounds to me that you posted this becuase you don't have enough to finish either project!
if thats the case rip the long block out of the integra. sell the cable trans/part out as much as you can from that teg. give the shell away for free.
the 92-95 conversion is MUCH cheaper if you know how to weld hell everything is cheaper when you know at least 1 processes of joining metals.
