ok so let me start off with the story, i was on my way to englishtown today for summer slam when at the inter section of union and peshion a lincoln blackwood runs the stop sign so i wound up literly havin to drift between him and a wrx wagon to not hit anyone. so i didnt hit anyone but wound up hitting a curb and ****** upthe front end of my Eg. the guy in the blackwood then decides to take off down union to leave the accident, my friends followed him to get the lisence plate. when the cops got him he wound up assalting one of them and got arrested, so my main concern is can I HAVE EITHER HIS INSURANCE COMAPNY PAY FOR MY DAMAGES OR SUE HIM TO PAY FOR THEM EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO DIRECT CAR TO CAR DAMAGE?? im really lost on this right now and was jus wondering if anyone had any advice

Talk to your lawyer and/or the cops. I guess it depends on weather or not they wrote him up for leaving the scene.

im not sure, but hopefully he does have to pay for something, and dont let him off for assaulting your friends!

i've actually had something very similar happen to me....if he has insurance.....PLEASE HOPE HE DOES....the company will pay for damages...even though he didnt literally hit your car....he did contribute an accident at his fault...and assaulting an officer wont be on his side....if he in fact has no insurance....a company that works with the police station...believe its "victim services" pay for all your damages and then deals with him afterword......dont worry.....since they got him...they will in fact attach his salary and spouse and other family who can possible be financially responsible.....you honestly dont have much to worry about...just make sure the police report matches up that he made you crash and you should be good.......good luck man....

same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. guy was supposed to yield and didn't. I swerved and hit the curb. messed up my driver's side fender, steering knuckle and other suspension parts.

next time someone runs a stop sign hit their ***, call the police, and call a physical therapist, get about 20 hours of therapy done and send the bill to his insurance company, they'll give you the money back for the accident, fix your car, and they USUALLY give you a little extra for your trouble.

just make sure that the police report includes him at fault and fleeing the scene and assulting your friend. then you friend should file a seperate lawsuit for the assult,

and do go to therapy for a while and they will give you some $$$
