Is the h22a worth it?
Hi, I'm new to the engine swap deal, but I was wondering if the h22a (prelude) engine is worth the swap in comparison to say the b18c from the gsr or the type r? I know that the torque off the line is higher in the h22 compared to the b18's but would that be negated out by the weight? I'm doing this to a '97 civic hx

well i am a huge fan of the H22A. Its a great idea to drop it in a accord. i dont think it is a good idea to drop it in a Del Sol or Civic. It can be done but i have talk to many people before and they said its not a good idea because of handling problems and the oil pan hanging low.

Going H22a is worth it. I personally have had great results with it in my integra and my customers haven't complained. We offer a A/C Bracket now for the H22a into the civics so yes you can keep it and its not that hard to bolt up. The power steering is still a problem however!

Word.... AC works great when it's in there but it's somewhat of a tight fit, but well worth it when working. As for power steering, what works is using the 97+ H22 pump and 97+ H22 power steering bracket and refit the line to your Civic line. Works perfectly and it's been done to 4 cars that I know of. The 92-96 H22 power steering pump & bracket are too big so it wants to hit the hood. Using the 97+ parts allows for the extra clearance. So to answer everyone's question when doing an H22 swap (with the HCP mount kit... dunno about the others due to their position of the motor), you can use BOTH AC and Power Steering on a H22 Civic setup.
