H22a type S tranny question
Im planning on getting myself a h22a type S for my ek sometime soon, but theres a problem it doesnt have a tranny. So what they want to do is install a regular h22 tranny, because it supposedly has more potential on a type S. Im fairly new to the h22 scene being i have JDM gsr right now that Im trying to sell. what i really want to do is get a type S tranny with LSD, which should come on the engine. Should i be specific about the tranny?

Re: H22a type S tranny question (purek9hybrid)
My suggestion is do an H22 tranny with a quaife. Nothing better than a lifetime warranty on a differential, whether you race or not. I had one in my integra and now I have one in my hatch with an H22. I have never had any problems, and if I ever do I have that warranty to back it up. Good luck and post some pics when you have the swap done.

Re: H22a type S tranny question (JDMH22HATCH)
I was considering a quaife lsd, but i wasnt sure whether to go with the type S tranny or just the h22a tranny. Another thing is..... the type s tranny is big! bigger than the h22a tranny. will it fit my ek??

The type s tranny is actually bigger? I didn't know that. I know the type s tranny has a shorter second and third gear, but has the same final drive as the normal h22.

its acutually the H22a from the 2001EURO R that is bigger cause its comes with LSD while JDM H22 from the 97 +Type S has an optional LSD
The Euro R has 163ftLbs/6700RPM
Type S has 153ftLbs/6300Rpm
