Default H22A tranny problem (reverse)

Well, last night after some races i go home. When i go to back in the car it doesnt go into reverse at all. Like if there was no reverse or a wall or something keeping it from going into reverse. I did miss 5th, maybe that will help figure out the problem. I can drive the car perfectly going through all the gears 1-5 no problem.
Please someone help asap! Thanx a million.

enough, 10 or so...

ANyways.
u missed fith? what did u put it into? 3rd? Or you pulled the clutch too early?

I mean I could see if it waslike the camaros where reverse is where 5th is so if u slam it up into 5th too hard u miss and nail reverse (which locks the tires I might (knowing from personal experience)), but how does missing 5th relate to the reverse, and how exactly did u miss 5th?

(I'm not flaming, I'm j/w)

i pumped it and it didnt work.

I didnt throw in 5th all the way and let the clutch go. I wasnt saying that it is related but stated it just incase.

I believe reverse gear is gone, im going to take it to a mechanic tomorrow and have them check it. I hope its not to expensive.

could it be a fork or something?

Does it feel like it's blocked out of the reverse slot?

Here's what I think. Your transmission probably needs a 5th-reverse synchro set. It's around $100. The part number is: 23626-P16-316

The other possibilities are the reverse change holder (no real likely, but still possible) or a damaged reverse idler gear (very very unlikely).

If the shift fork was bent, you'd also experience problems with 5th gear as well. A bent shift fork is an unlikely problem since the part on the shift fork that interacts with the reverse change holder is too low on the shift to really be affected by a slight bend.

so shouldn't you be able to slide into reverse anyways? Without syncros? move it forward I guess, should make a lil cracking sound, but it should slip in, no?
