H22A into a 1994 eg
So last night, I just bought a H22A complete swap. Here's the link
http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/pts/1098920727.html
And im putting it into my EG.
We did some research and saw there are some minor mods needed to get this motor in. We will start today and I will be posting up pics and other issues or questions up as we start the swap. Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any help.

Re: H22A into a 1994 eg
first off do know that you are going to have to cut part of your passenger side mount off, like off of the actual car you have to trim it so that everything will fit...

yeah I read i have to cut off 1 1/2 inch off of that mount, and then redrill the holes for the bolt to go through, anything else that I should know of? and thanks.
If anyone knows of any other mods needed to be done to get the motor in, please let me know. I know I need to replace the radiator too, but right now I have no front end on the car, which makes everthing super easy since i can practically walk into my engine bay. If you have pics of specific areas too that would be great.

You have to trim that mount, or with some kits completely remove it and the h will mount to where your torque mount does. You are going to need custom axles or make your own, search for specifics on that. The harness needs to have a couple plugs changed, easiest to use your civic one and modify it. Depending on the mount kit you might not need a rad. You will of course have to cut out and mount the shifter box, and route the cables. Its really not that hard if you have experience with swaps. Some of the sensors can be deleted if your ecu is chipped such as the knock. My buddy just put one into integra and it is a blast to drive. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message!

What you need to do is stop what you're doing, and do some research before you get too deep into it. The Hasport mounts should come with instructions for what needs to be done with the mount bracket. If you don't have the instructions, go to hasport's web site and download them. Then you should go to the Hybrid section here at H-T (Hybrid meaning putting an engine from one kind of car into another, not fuel efficiency). There is a sticky at the top of the page all about the swap, including wiring details and axle info. This swap has been covered in detail, if you take the time to look around for info.

yeah i sort of realized i have alot more to figure out before putting the motor in, thats what our group is doing right now, thanks for the tips guys, civic spoon, we looked at the sticky on the swap in the hybrid section, it helped alot, thanks. I didnt have the instructions for the hasport mounts because it came with the motor used, but we got alot of research done and will start this swap tonight.
Thankyou guys for everything so far, i will post with questions as we get into the swap.

On hasports website I am told that the right side (passenger side) mounting bracket needs to be removed but on other posts I see that it needs 1 1/2 inch to be removed and new holes to be drilled, anyone know which one I should do?

1. hasport mounts you need to remove the whole tranny mount. there are some generic mounts that you only cut about 1 1/2 inch off and drill a new hole. 2. have to cut out your shifter box and drill new holes. 3. need custom axles. 4. need to extends some of the harness plugs. 5. can get it tune. i'am running mines on a stock p72 gsr ecu and runs great. 6. HAVE FUN WITH IT WHEN COMPLETE...............

Re: H22A into a 1994 eg
go H2B, h22 motor b series tranny, jus use the custom mounts from avid or hasport, if u do h2b, u can use the b series shift linkage, tranny, axles, so u dont have to cut up for the h22 tranny

But yeah, the swap isn't quite as easy a B swap, but not too bad.
Get a mount kit
Go ahead and buy some hardened swap axles, trust me
Cut a hole for shifter cables
Modify the center console
repin a couple of plugs, (google h22 swap wiring, real straight forward)
IF your car is a dx or w/e, you will need wire up a vtec harness
um..
A slim raidator is a good idea with a thinner fan
