Default h22a civic vs b18c1 civic

what would be better for a civic a h22a engine or b18c1 engine

which one would be good for racing a quarter mile and which one could have more power with addons and things like that?

If you plan on staying allmotor H22 but if you want to turbo i would go B18 just for space avaliblity.

It's been covered many times by now. All this post will do is stir up arguments between the fans of both.

Both are great motors. End of story.

No replacement for displacement. If one of your options was a B18C5 motor then I'd say go with that but since you are looking @ a GSR motor then I'd say a H22A motor definently if you are planning on staying N/A (Jun is making cams for the H series motors and Skunk2 makes some as well). But for turbo (and available space) a GSR would be easier...of course a turbo H series motor in a civic would be sick......you snap axles all day and traction would be non -existent until you reach illegal speeds on the streets but it would sick nevertheless.

The handling is nonsense, when u redo suspension... Coilovers and stiffer springs, sway bars and such...it pretty much eliminates the sluggishness.

i prefer b18c1, even though the h22 will be faster right off the bat. I just like having the swappibility of B series parts, plus larger aftermarket copenents. Both motors are in their own fields, great motors. Cheers
