Default h22 vtec not ingaging

Today I was at a light and raced a stang. I started peeling and I noticed my mph wasnt working. Then it kicked in. Then every time I came to a stop it wouldnt work for a little bit. The when it did work it would bounce around then not work and keep doin it on and off. Then I noticed when the mph didnt work, vtec didnt ingage neither and instead of redlinen at 7.5 not its at 6.5. We checked behind the cluster unplugging and plugging everything in making sure it was tight, looked under the hood and made sure the vtec line was in tight and check some wires on the ecu. Then it worked again for about 2 hours. Now it doesnt work again. Anyone have any idea whats wrong.
Thanks....

Check your oil level. That's probably not it but it could be. And don't race.

For the first guy, your VSS is malfunctioning or loose. It is part of your tranny setup and it's a super-common problem in Hondas. Get a new one or fix the old one. Sometimes the old one gets crud in it and you can clean it and make it work. With the symptoms you're describing, it's probably salvageable.

The second guy: you've gotta run the VTEC signal wire from the solenoid to the ECU. That's all. If you don't know what that means, you shouldn't be doing a swap without the aid of a professional. Search the site for the proper pin to hit with the VTEC wire.

And Rattle, don't ******* type in all caps, dumbass.
