h22 swap questions
hello i just have a few questions about h22 swap in my 1997 civic lx. after days of reading and note taking there is a lot of bs in the forums.
I want to keep PS. What do I need exactly to do so?
I want to keep AC. i know that hcp makes a ac conversion kit but do i get a slim rad and keep stock ac condenser?
on the wireing note all i need to do is re wire the crank sensor to the distubutor add knock and vtec/pressure switch
Rather than adding a resistor box for the Injectors could I run the H22a4 injectors instead? (they don't require a box) I would just have to change the d16y7 injector plugs for the H22a4 injector plugs right?
Is there anything I am forgetting here? Any advise recomendations would be great.
Thanks everyone for your help and please bump this if you read it.

Re: h22 swap questions
this question is better suited for the hybrid forum, but ill chime in anyways..
swapping a h22 in to the EJ body style is probably the easiest civic to swap this motor in to. because it is bigger, you can keep everything.
for the PS, i dont remember exactly but if anything you may have to make a custom line...
what i did was swap out my power rack for a manual rack (which i love by the way), now i know your wanting to keep your PS, so you'll just have to figure out how to adapt it once u get started. but it can be done.
as for the AC, there are a few options. first figure out which compressor you want to use, either the D series (which will need a custom mount for the block) or the H series, (which MIGHT require custom lines, or a combination of the civic/prelude lines. when i did this, i used the prelude compressor and a slim fan, however the oem fan would have worked with a little trimming of the shroud.
wiring- i always suggest getting BOTH honda ETM service manuals, one for your specific civic and one for the specific prelude your motor came out of, this way you can compare the different sensors that you are trying to connect and figure out what colors are what and where they run to on your ecu.
i suggest using a P28. (w/neptune/demon program. this is what i use and i absolutely love it) it does not require knock if i remember correctly
-crank sensor may be run through the distributor depending on what dizzy you are using.
-vtec you will have to add.
-h22a4 injectors DO NOT require a resistor box. resistor box goes with the obd1 injectors. and yes you may have to change out the connectors on the car's harness.
do some more research in the hybrid forum, everything you need to know is in there.
good luck.

Re: h22 swap questions
hey hondazvic
i got a 96 prelude with a h22a swap in it and when i got it the guy who sold it to me told me it was a h22 before it but it blew. but it has a p28 and he said it was tuned at speedtech in calgary.
im going to start a euro r h22a/lsd swap into a 93 hatchback civic and i want to use as much from the prelude as i can, like the ecu and harnesses, but what else i can use and what other wiring i need to do if i have a harness already for a h22a
i know i can use the shifter cables, shifter assembly, but that's about it as far as i know. i need to search axles a little more and the mounts i will get from hybridracing but im not sure if the axles will work with lsd
