Default H22 Swap help! access to a prelude...what do I pull?!?! eekkkkk

hey guys, I have access to a 98 or 99 prelude with a dohc and a stick. Dont know if it's a H22 or H23 but I can get whatever I want out of it for free so I honestly dont care what it is hehe (gotta luv it when people owe you money...)

anyway, what all do I need from it as I've got a one-shot deal at the parts from it.

I assume:
engine
tranny
engine harness
ecu
axles
mounts
shifter linkage + shifter
exhaust manifold + downpipe
air intake assembly

what all of this stuff, once I get it all, will I not need or have to modify?? I know I'll need to get the HAsport h22 swap mounts and do some work to the engine harness, etc.

is there a swap guide anywhere on the internet that details tossing an H22 into a 96-98 civic??? thanks!

hopefully this wont be super painful to do hehe

Look in the hybrid section. Lots of info there on it.

i was hoping to get insight on staying completely obd-2 (if you would've noticed I said 98-99 prelude was what I had access to.

I have to do this to pass smog in atlanta and all the stuff in the hybrid forum is when people are using obd-1 stuff or getting an obd-1 adapter harness...

98-99 base or type sh? And also they only came with the H22A4, obdII. Try to get everything you can so the swap will go smoothly.
IF its the TYPE SH, then you got some work cut out for you, You got some issues with the ATTS in the tranny, find out about that 1st.

Also get the keys, cause of the immobalizer associated with the ecu and keys, unless you can find a workaround with that.

The reason most people dont go with the H22A4 is the obdII and immobalizer.

Just take the whole car then get rid of what you don't want.
If thats an option?

Sounds like you came up on a good deal

I dont think it's an SH, my dad would've remembered that. Car is in south carolina and I'm in atlanta georgia so I haven't even seen it yet so I can't confirm nor deny that.

reason I can't do OBD-1 is because of atlanta smog station rules. Basically, if you have an engine swap then the car is smogged based on the CHASSIS of the car. My car is a 98 ex obd-2a so if I tossed in an obd-1 engine/tranny/ecu setup then I would fail immediately when they hooked into the ecu and it didn't read correctly as obd-2a.

I wish there was a way to get away with an obd-1 ecu but I dont think there is. I'll take a look on my mitchel on demand diagrams tomorrow about that immobilizer system and see if there's a work around for it or not but thanks for the heads up on that as I had no clue on it haha.

well, time to go out and get trashed tonight. thanks for the help so far guys!

yes, i read the stuff in the hybrid forum but it doesnt help me at all as about 90% of it is for obd-1 stuff and EG's. the majority of the stuff for ek's is as quoted "just do same for eg cept this and that" yet nobody has picture proof of it haha.
