H22 OBD2 in a EK Coupe
Hey guys, I am running out of way to get my car to start. Everything is in, but there is no sparks at all. My H22 is JDM. What I want to know is does it have a crank sensor? If anybody can help me that will be appreciated very much. My car is at the shop and the mechanic there gave up on it.
H22 JDM Internal Coil w/ PR4 92-93 Integra ECU chipped for my H22.
I have a 98 Civic Ex. The car crank but no sparks at all.
Correct me if I'm wrong but JDM H22 are Internal Coil right?
I change the spark plugs to NGK Iridiums.
One more thing, since my H22 is a OBD2 then I do not need a resistor box for my injectors right?
Please help me and point me out to the right direction

1. What engine codes do you have?
2. Is the fuel pump priming?
3. Is the ground at the thermostat housing connected?
4. Is the ECU a known good ECU? Does the engine light turn on when you turn the key to run then turn back off as it should?
5. Have you checked all of your fuses?
6. Have you double checked your wiring?
7. Have you checked all of the distributor internals according to the Helms manual?
8. Did you try to start the car without the spark plug wires hooked up? If so, you could have smoked the coil or ignitor.
Answer that so your post is a little less vague and people may be able to actually help you. My crystal ball's battery went dead a couple months ago and it appears that there is no longer a replacement for it. For now on, I'll need information to be able to accurately answer questions.

Re: H22 OBD2 in a EK Coupe
IIRC, the JDM H22s were external coil. As far as that goes, you might want to search. BUT...as far as the rest:
Maybe the distributor is no good. Do you know anyone with another known good distributor?
Posting your issue in a prelude forum might be better. They might have more H22 knowledge. I'm pretty sure the crank sensor and TDC sensors are still inside the distributor, though. The misfire sensor is on the crank; by the timing belt usually...but that doesn't control ignition.
Are all your grounds good?

holy crap, this is the infamous thread?!
He came in here, gave next to NO information about his problem, then didn't answer everyone's reasonable questions to BETTER SOLVE HIS PROBLEM and now HE'S trying to call us out?!
OP is a moron of the highest degree. I suspect that he may have been the product of a botched abortion.

Furthermore... OP: answer the following questions, and we MIGHT get a clue of what your problem is. We're not magical, and cannot see your engine over the internet. Before you call us a bunch of idiots, you might want to give us enough information to even GUESS as to what your problem might be.
This guy here only gave you THE TOP FARKING EIGHT REASONS that your car might not be starting! FOADIAF

Re: H22 OBD2 in a EK Coupe
All u have to do is make the distributor internal and use the prelude distributor wire and reconnect them to ur stock wires... You can also use all the internals out of any B-series...
