hello, i just purchaced a h22-eg. mods include short ram intake, JDM header with modified 3 in. collector, 2.5 carsound cat, 2.5 inch SS cat-back magnaflow w/ resonator. the sound is really loud under acceleration and a little high pitched. it is pretty much silent while cruising.
I believe that the high pitched tone is due to the carsound cat.

question:
can i add a resonator? or 2? to lower the tone of the exhaust. obviously the volume will be reduced. but i am motivated to lower the tone. I am also considering a ITR muffler. I am willing to accept a power lose. I will even which to 2.25 in piping if necessary, lol.

2 options:
1. add 2 more resonators, making a total of 3, lol.
3in-2.5-2.5
2. add 2.25 ITR muffler in place of magnaflow muffler.
3in-2.5-2.25

the reason i do not do
DC header (2.25) - stock cat (2.25) - 2.25 piping - ITR muffler
is due to my checking account balance.

Look into a S2000 muffler, it looks like it will be your best bet.

hey man i have hks hyper exhaust and as nice as it looks angled out it was a little to loud for my liking and i hate how silencers look.So i bought a gsr muffler of a guy on here and put it on.Its nice and quite and didnt notice a power loss.(b16 50 shot,all the bolt ons blah blah)oh yeah and its sleeper no body notices its a lager than factory muffler and think your stock. just my .2

cool thanks a lot guys. i feel stupid now. i used to have a 98 GSR, and when i got a apex'i exhaust, i left the stock muffler at the shop.
