H22 comp ratio and FI
ok guys .......im pretty new to this whole honda thing.. i know that a USDM comp ratio is around 10.1 :1 correct? well how good can these motors hold nitrous ..... when all is said and done i want to be able to hold 100 shot or more...... i know that with assing a turbo you would lower your comp ratio .... the lower the CR the more boost your able to add.... so im guessing the same with nitrous.. but off the bottle wouldnt a low comp ratio be a little non user friendly ... or just up the CR... whats the best for a daily drivin car , yet still able to withstand alot of nitrous?
thanks
thanks

Re: H22 comp ratio and FI (no_boost)
why post this in the civic forum when there is an FI forum and a prelude forum
but
nitrous loves compression, and as long as its tuned right (good air / fuel ratio) you should be fine. plenty of H22 guys run JDM engines (10.6:1) with 75 shots on the track, then daily drive the cars.
-make sure its a wet kit
-make sure you have a real wideband
-i'd still get an EGT gauge
this should take care of you for a long long time, and when you say "alot of nitrous" what do you mean, what car is it in and what do you want it to do. It might not take as much juice as you think.

this is gonna be in a 93 coupe.... all i plan to do with this is keep it as a daily driver .... but still i want it to be able to withstand a substantial amount of nitrous.

Re: (no_boost)
ive seen stock h22 take about 9, 5lbs bottles worth of the juice on a 75 shot. the motor was taken apart 2 go turbo and it was 100% in the same condition. so just run a 75 shot and u be ok. 100 shot might work but dont blame me if it blows. h22s are strong
