h22
so i juss picked up a hatch with an h22 motor in it for 4 G's. The guy who sold it to me built the car and brought it out to the tracks. His best running time was a 13.720. The motor is stock but he changed the tranny etc.. I was talking to a friend and he has a lsvtec fully built in his hatch... he told me that he would kill me any day... So i was wondering what can i do to imporve my hatch.. I'm new to this honda scene.... pls help thanks

Re: h22 (egbaby)
First thing I would do is read/search for setup's of others on here. I don't have an H22, so I won't pretend to know the exact setup of one (C/R, bottom end, etc) but the obvious intake/header/exhaust/bolt-ons would do a little bit of good. Of course turbo/s-c would yield the most gain, but tuning is key.
Also your goals are important. It sounds stupid, but an H22 is an already great motor in a hatch (or most other Civics for that matter) for road racing, and of course they have good power for straight line as well. BUT, depending on what you are looking to use the car/motor for you may want to stick to n/a or you may want to boost it.

Re: h22 (egbaby)
i don't think u'r friends ls/v will win unless it has been built with cams and all that stuff. And if it does keep in mind that u'r motor is stock internally and can be built with goodies like your friends hatch. but besides the basic intake header exhaust a few other upgrades are clutches, light flywheels, light crank pulley, MSD ignition system, a full tune up and the most important a ECU program for your car. Have a tuner tune your car and change u'r vtec crossover and u'r redline for a stock h22 the common setup is 4800 vtec and 8200 redline
