Guys!! Help me!!!!!! :(
wtf!!! I am so sad right now and frustrated!!
i installed my exhaust system and the header and the cat weren't connected completely flush together so there was a leak. Midas put a gasket in there and it was ok....but there is still a leak. sounds like the header is leaking air from the head and it stinks!!
so.....i am so upset right now cause I was looking at my order invoice and it had 2 part#'s on it...one was scratched out
well I think they sent me a header for a 4th gen 88-91 and mine is a 98
help!!
I have this installed on my car! Is my car gonna be fucked.
What is the difference b/tw the heads on a 88-91 and 92+????
I don't know what I should do!! I already wrote a nasty email to the ******* company and I will bitch em out monday!
Cliff Notes ******* sent me a Header for a 88-91 Civic and it is on my car(98) HELP!!!!
I am gonna cry!

the only thing you can do is replace the manifold gasket, and retorque the bolts down....if that doesn't do it...it's time to complain to whoever you bought it from.

Well, don't fret too much, it shouldn't do any damage. I would take it off though, put the stock manifold back on and send it back. Your car won't die or anything though, so there is a bright side

Re: Guys!! Help me!!!!!! :( (Chris93Si)
We called them and they said that the header is the same as the 88-91 for the 98.. we will tourqe the bolts down again and the proper way this time starting from the midlle and working our way out... hopefully this will solve our problem.. do you guys know if the blocks are the same ??????
Thanks for all the help.. Im just trying to get around taking the freakin thing off and putting the old manifold back on.. If we didnt tighten the nuts on the proper way the fisrt time will it warp the gasket?????

I dont think the gasket will warp, its meant to be smushed in there. just tighten the hell out of all those bolts.

if the problem persists, take the header to a machine shop and have the flange surface ground. then reinstall the header with a new gasket. DO NOT overtorque the bolts!! if its leaking from the head, odds are the flange is warped and this will cure that. btw, what brand is that header?

well i got a gasket for the rear section and I am picking up a new head gasket on monday!! It doesn't seem to be leaking??
oh....and I am still not sure about the header.
The company I ordered it from said that it was a sale gimmick and that the 88-91 is the exact same as the 92+. He told me to call the manufacturer and ask for myself....they won't be in till monday so............
Oh well....it sounds crazy though!! I think everything is ok!
thanks for any help guys!!

the header for the d16a6 is differnt from that of the other years because of the placement of the o2 bung
something you might want to think about

Re: Guys!! Help me!!!!!! :( (court)
why would that matter??? it is coming out of the side of the header.
I am not sure if this would give it a different reading??? I don't see why??
I am just worried about the exhaust ports lining up with the header ports!

nice to see some other people from sc.... sounds like who ever you've been dealing wid you need to stay away from, sounds like they don't know chit about honda's.... what type of header is it that you got and i might be able to give you a better answer as to if there the same or not. next time you need some car parts give daniel @ r&d in charleston a call tell them you frequent this board. in fact give him a call and explain your prob to him, he would be able to give you some answers.
