Gutted Dash with pics
Umm I just took out the ac/heater **** from the firewall, then I took out the passenger airbag and used a die grinder with gut off wheel to gut the inside of the dash. Didn't touch anything that shows from the outside except the ac vents. BTW anyone know where to get precut ac vent blockoffs? I am super busy don't really have time to make any...

Dash After:
I'd say maybe 50 pounds total including passenger airbag but I didn't weigh anything just guessing.

Unless it's a full race car.. why?! I wouldn't ever strip more then the rear of the car. I enjoy passengers and an interior. Going .1 second faster isn't worth it to me.

But maybe it's worth it to him. Do as you please to your OWN car. I don't spend a lot of time here since my honda (03 LX 4dr) is pretty stock but my GVR4 is the racecar in my house. I mod it as it makes ME happy because i'm the one that drives it. So don't hate and post crap like that in these threads. It's not like he put a 35foot park bench on the thing...
Lighter is faster and some of us actually enjoy relatively stripped cars. Something simple and pure about it.

it seemed like everything that he took out minus the air vents would not even be able to be seen once he puts the dash back on. The only other thing that you might see gone is the radio. I think it is a good idea to lighten up the front of the car, which we all know is a better idea than lightening up the rear. It's perfect for anyone that doesn't mind driving without AC or a heater.
Did you take all the AC stuff out from under the hood?

I think its a lil too extreme. Even full racer cars have dashes..but hey looks like you have more metal to cut your self on if you get into and accident

I did the same deal w/ my integra and it was a lot more nibble, the sounds from the intake could be heard more as well. I have a skunk2 mani - and that thing would whistle and just sounded way cooler. I installed a manual window defoger and that worked bought it online for 30 bucks.

No more radio?

Yeah if he hugs the dash when he wrecks. Most people wear seatbelts

Re: (Jon V)
Yeah I put the dash back in already. With the glovebox and the radio. You can't even tell any difference other than the AC vents and the hole where the climate control used to be. Once I get some block offs in there it will look super clean.
And yeah I took out the underhood AC stuff a while ago. This car is just a fun car for me, I drive a 97 F150 to work and for dates
I'll take some pics in a little bit.
