Gude sohc vtec cam - HCCS14
Does anybody run the gude HCCS14? I've got a complete d16z6 gude head package that I bought used on the way. I know gude doesn't normally upgrade the valve springs, and apparently the cam makes power from 2000 to 8500 rpm. Any advice or stories/info/timeslips with the cam or package? Thanks.

Hey man GUDE really knows how to make SOHC power.
I have heard some good and some not-so good things about them.
Might want to talk to someone over there before you just go buying parts, etc.

Yeah, I've heard some horror stories about gude's customer service and problems with getting parts back from them - also, $1600 plus $500 core is a lot of money for the package. I've also heard that when done right, gude work is awesome. That is why I bought the parts used. The previous owner was a guy that was returning his car back to stock. This way I get the parts for cheap, and I don't have to deal with gude. And for extra security, I have set up the payment through http://www.escrow.com so I can make sure the parts are in good shape before the seller gets the money.

gude makes a definite nice cam for SOHC.
I would also look into the new EF-1 cams. Talk to Rocket or crxhfi on HT, or visit their site at ef-1.com.
they can make you a cam for custom lift/duration and such.
