Re: GSR Valvetrain in a b16a? (solofthesouth)
There is no reason why this wouldn't work, but it would be taking a step backwards. The b16a head has higher flow and better volumetrics than a GSR. That is why people usually only use b16 heads for LS/VTEC and poor man Type-Rs. The B18C5 is basically an OEM GSR block with a b16 head (flame me if I'm wrong, but I was told this millions of times by well trusted HondaHeads). I would just stick with the b16a VT. If you want to upgrade, upgrade to ITR or better yet CTR-the B16B. Good luck dude

The B16A and B18C1 valvetrains are different (part number wise) but are actually pretty much the same in terms of what RPM/cams can be handled.
A cheap upgrade is ITR valvetrain, although ITR valvetrain can only support up to an ITR/CTR cam.
ITR and CTR have the same valvetrain.
