Post Gsr tps voltage problems

I did a gsr swap on my 98 ex sedan. Ive had a cel on for code 7, which is tps. Ive tried calibrating the sensor but at closed throttle with no pedal pressure its only showing between 0.02 and 0.03. And at wide open trottle it only shows like 2.51 at most. I know they should be at .049 and 4.49 at wide open. How can i get my voltage right or do i have a wire problem somewhere.

What voltage are you reading on the yellow wire?
Set your voltmeter to resistance. What do you measure from the green wire to the battery negative terminal?

The yellow wire shows consistent 5 volts. And the green wire is getting perfect ground.

Then your TPS is bad. Replace it.

Are you sure you have the tps "tab" between the metal prongs?

So other than the tps being bad, there's no other reason for the short voltage numbers?

When you pull the throttle plate completely open (which you should be doing for your WOT reading), it is actually fully opening, is it not? You are actually using the thumb plate on the throttle plate to open it, and not just having a friend put his foot on the gas, are you not? You didn't play with it, spinning the sensor around in circles before installing it, did you?

Remove the sensor from the TB. Plug the sensor in. Now use your fingers to move the sensor. Can you get it within a working range that way? It's a linear sensor. Even it being 180* out shouldn't explain those numbers you're getting.

I bought a new skunk2 intake manifold and throttle body. Yes im using my hand to get wide open throttle. I didnt spin the sensor or anything like that. I installed the sensor and the check engine light was still on showing only code 7. Throttle body and sensor are both new. I havent tried getting the number without the sensor on the throttle body. Ill see if i can get the numbers with it off the throttle body

"I bought Junk2"

All you had to say. Get the sensor replaced.

The sensor physically is not ranging correctly. Assuming you actually did the tests, and didn't just give us the answer you thought we'd want to hear, then yes, a replacement sensor is literally the answer.

I wouldn't purchase one, though. You were given a defective unit. Whoever sold you that one should replace it.

I bought it off ebay, so it being defective from the seller is maing more sense. Its not worth the trouble to have it replaced. Im jus gonna pay retail for a new from my local part store to save time.

Than you bought a used sensor. I find people doing this all the damn time, buy a used sensor/part and calling it new when its not actually "NEW".

As ive already said, the sensor was purchased new, as in, never been on a engine before. From ebay, as a cheaper way to get a new sensor.

lol "Part Brand: AFTER MARKET". Red flag #1. Buy something with an actual name attached to it. Even a shitty name is better than no name at all.

I bought a new oem sensor. Took my check engine light off. I calibrated it, got the closed throttle numbers spot on. But couldnt get the wide open numbers up to 4.5. Closest i could get was like 3.8.

Take a picture of the inside of your TB, while holding it fully open.
