Hey,
IYHO - Is it safe to install GSR spec front and rear sway bars on a 92 hatch that has stock springs on it. By safe, I mean it wouldn't damage anything.
A beaks kit would be installed on the rear. I'm concerned about the low spring rates. Do you think this could damage the subframe?
Thanks

yes it is safe, my question is does the 92-95 cx have whole from mounting the swaybar already. I have already out on a GSR front lower tie bar, and the holes were there, and threaded.
I DONT mean are there holes in the LCAs, i mean are there holes in the subframe for the swaybar to attach to?

Re: (LudeHatchH22a)
on the front you will need new LCA. and all the **** that attachs the sway to the lca
on the rear you need to either drill or buy LCA with mounting holes
and yes there are holes in the sub frame

Re: (slammed_93_hatch)
I'd advise against drilling out EG rear LCA's. EK ones seem drillable, but structurally, EG LCA's don't look like they'd be safe drilled out.
You can pick up EG Si LCA's for cheap, and for piece of mind it's a good idea.
I always say, suspension is a BAD place to cut corners.

Guys,
my question was do you think it would be safe for the structure of the frame to mount sway bars on a car that has stock spring rates. I'm concerned about the softness of the spring rates. There is HUGE body roll on stock spring rates. Sway bars reduce body roll but there still will be body roll because of the soft, stock springs rates. This means LOTS of weight transfer during cornering and that means that the points where the sway bars mount to the frame will be under huge stress.
In your opinion, can the frame withstand this stress?

Yes its safe, the gsr rear sway is only 14mm. The type r on the other hand is 22m and with soft spring rates make the risk of tearing out ur subframe much higher.

just fyi.
A 14 mm rear sway bar comes stock on jdm eg6's so your subframe shuold be ok.

u wasting money to change front sway bar. too thick in front will cause steering issues. just slap on the ITR rear, with some rear LCAs that got the mounting hole for the endlink( from 88-91 Si, 90-99?teg) & Beaks rear mount kit.
