Default GSR swap into 92 EG NO SPARK

We just completed a JDM GSR swap into a 92 Si.

Using ---> USDM OBD1 GSR harness w/OBD1 P72. <----

From what I understand you need to move the pin A20 to A17 for the IAB. We did that... and that was the only wire we fucked with.

Everything is plugged in properly but we aren't getting spark. We checked the firing order many times and it's perfect. The distributor has the cap and rotor.

Can anyone give ideas to what the problem is? The fuel pump is working.. just NO spark. WTF?

Searched every thread I could find on this but I couldn't find anyone having spark problems.

HELP

Has the swap worked before? Maybe the ignitor is out, or even the dizzy.

No this is the first try on this swap.

It's giving a code 15. No ignition output signal.

Any ideas? Bad distributor?

Searching for pinouts right now..

Sounds like you wired something wrong or the ignitor is gone. If all you changed was A17 and A20 then its probably the ignitor out. Its a common thing, mine went out.

Open up the distributor and take out the ignitor (its 2 screws) and see if it looks burned or anything like that.

I'm working with him on this swap.

I took the distributor apart and everything looks good. I switched the ignitor with one from the civic motor that we pulled out and it still wouldn't spark.

Any more ideas?

well, i ran all obd-2 stuff on my 00 gsr motor in my hatch, but used a obd-2 harness also. then used my obd-1 ecu. sounds like you might have the drong dizzy. how did you hook up a obd-2 dizzy to a obd-1 harness? usually you have to repin a obd-2 dizzy with a single obd-1 plug. Its not your igniter, casue you wouldn't be throwing a code. the CEL never came on for me when my igniter went out. SOunds like a wiring problem yet. look at your ecu, find the right wire, look at the color, follow that wire to the strut tower plugs, find out where that same wire goes, and make sure it goes to the right spot. hope that helps.

Check the resistance on your coil both sides (prolly bad secondary winding), or your ignitior is messed up and is not breaking the charge (test that too).

We got it all working today.. turned out to be a distributor problem. Replaced it and it starter up!

Still throwing code 15, and 23.. but we'll work that out tomorrow.

Thanks all.
