NEED HELP : recently swapped a 98 gsr from one eg hatch to another eg hatch, it used to start right up like beautifully, now in the new hatch, its a process to get it started. It cranks and cranks and cranks won't turn over unless I cover the Throttle body with something so blocking off air flow a bit then it will turn over and start really weak then immediately I have to rev it, after that it starts up fin for a bit, why doesn't it start right up In the new hatch? Maybe you should start doing some troubleshooting, fuel , spark, compression.

Any check engine lights? Could be a wiring issue, what motor used to be in your hatch and how did it run?

It was a ls before, I thought it would be a wiring issue cause it was swapped to the same chassis, bit when it had the ls it had a ruff start where I would have to hold the gas so it would gradually start, so I'm trying thinking it's something with the cabin harness

Already did that, the engine was in a hatch before I swapped it into another hatch, and it ran good,

If thats all the troubleshooting your gonna do ( swap ran good in another car ), then damn dude......

Figure out what codes they are throwing, that will help with an answer to the problem.

I'm doing more I narrowed it down to the cabin harness but I'm gonna check to map tps ect sensor

By the sounds of it, you're not getting fuel properly delivered, or the spark weak. If you have to cover the throttlebody just got it to crank weird than I have no idea what that proves. Probably starvation of oxygen?

That's what I thought with fuel because the motor in it before has a issue like that similar just different, I would start and it cranks over and I would have to press the gas for it to start up fully

It's obd1 and autozone won't help they don't have it apparently
