Default GSR Swap ? with CEL

I have a 00 GSR swap (obdII) with a OBDI ECU and a fields vtec controller. The car runs fine.... First, i have no o2 sensor YET. But the weird thing is its throwing Code 6 which I believe is a coolant temp sensor code. But why is that the only code its throwing when I dont even have an o2 sensor hooked up? All I can think of is a pin might be crossed somewhere in the harness? Any other ideas? Thanks.
