GSR shifter into EG6

I gotta 93 Si...wanna know if the 94+ Gsr shifter would fit in the Civic and reduce the throw? (short shifter) Don't wanna getta short shifter if i could get an OEM one for 20 bucks. TIA https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Yep, I'm using a gs-r shifter in my civic (along with the linkage and tranny)

Re: GSR shifter into EG6 (b16ahybrid)

the gsr shifter is a dual bend and slightly reduces the throw. IMO its better than an aftermarket shifter because it's oem quality and there's less chances of it breaking https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

wont fit your stock linkage so it might end up more expensive then you think. btw the skunk2 shifter should'nt have any problems with breakage, at least from what ive heard. def. dont get an ebay shifter https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

i am almost certain of it fitting in a 93 si because ive read about it a long time ago here on honda-tech. but still, checking again wont hurt https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Re: GSR shifter into EG6 (dampachi)

yes it will fit you need to bend the linkage for the gsr shifter to fit..or cut the shifter..when you compare the 2 its obvious what needs to be done...

i would rather bend the linkage than cut the shifter..we bent ours and its fine..

this part i dont understand...its just replacing the shifter...not the linkage...or would i have to replace the whole linkage if i want to use the shifter?

uhhh... if you're breaking shifters, even if its a pos apc, you are shifting too damn hard! besides, if you shift like a fucking ape, much better to break the shifter than the syncros....

as for will it fit, yes. all d & b-series (w/ possible exception of prelude b20's) shifters are interchangeable. it's the linkage & tranny-side bushings that are different. the shifter end is the same for all of them

ummm http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif no the gsr shifter is not interchangeable with the other linkages just the ls into d-series or vise versa... (without mods)

shit it will fit fine an just get pliers and bend the bracket wider for it.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Re: GSR shifter into EG6 (bpowa)

don't bend your linkage. The gsr shifter installs just fine in the civic with just a few modifications to the shifter... Did a write-up w/pics here :

hate to tell you this, but the ls and gsr shifters are exactly the same. LS is most definitely not the same as sohc.

Egone 08-09-2004 08:17 PM

yes u can use a cx shifter on a gsr linkage becuase if u look the gsr shifter is wider so the linkage is wider but if u use a gsr shifter in a cx linkage it will not fit what i did was just hack the extra part mine works fine no problems and its been like that for a year

will a gsr shifter fit my b16 linkage in an eg dx hb?

KiNG $h!t 08-09-2004 10:56 PM

^^^ werd will the gsr fit the b16 shift linkage in the eg??

Re: (this guy 2fast)

Listen to what everyone is saying. Yes, it will fit. You just have to bend the brackets on the shift linkage on where the shifter connects to. The GSR Shifter is wider then the Civic shifter, so you either have to cut the GSR shifter, so that its the same size as Civic, or just slightly bend the shift linkage bracket. It is so much easier to just bend the shift linkage the get a grinder or hack saw or whatever you choose to loose. I may have a picture of the difference, ill try and find it.

Re: (Kevedge)

Thanks for all these usefull replys guys...i finally got a chance to test drive a DX hatch with a GSR shifter...he said it fit no problem and the throw is reduced quite a bit. It's a shorter throw then the stock Civic shifter i'll tell yah that...feels very good too. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
