GSR LS B18C-R B16 or stroke a B16 to a 2litre Please help me decide.
I'm in the market for a swap and can't decide between those motors. My HP goal is 225 hp at the wheels. I have a 92 Si. I'm kinda leaning towards stroking the B16, but I'm not sure. Would like to keep cash down as much as possible. I wanna go na, all motor. Please help me decide.

Judging by the wording of your question...I would say you have lots to learn yet. Start reading up for a few Months, then try asking again.

Maybe this is a little more clear: I plan on getting a swap soon, not exactly which engine would be the best for my needs, a daily driver, autox, possible of having 225 tuned.
Thanks for the help
EDIT: Obviously I have a lot to learn but you aren't helping me at all, what don't you understand about my question, you aren't you anwering it?
If I stroke it would be with the Toda kit.

stroke = LOOTCAKES.
B18C =
B20vtec = *but you are mad young and naive, plus you obviously have not read much on this site, so I am not sure if "building" a motor is within your abilities and budget, soo you may want to stick with a GSR or ITR swap.

The cheapest would probably be an H22A Type-S swap with bolt-ons and tuning or the B18C5. Going NA, however, and wanting 225whp is going to cost quite a bit.

yeah suppose you got a type-r swap. thats an expensive swap. youre sittin pretty at ~180-185 to the wheels. in order to get 45 more hp, do you know what that will take?? do you know how finely tuned a type-r engine is from the factory?? intake= 1hp. throttle body= pointless, IM=pointless (basically a skunk2) port & polish (even though its got a light p&p from factory)= 8 hp, skunk2 stage III cams= 8 hp, skunk2 valves, springs, ret.= 8 hp (higher rpm), 3 or 5 angle valve job= 3 hp, 330cc injectors and AEM EMS= 8 hp finely dyno tuned w/ high rev limit, lightweight flywheel= 3 hp, and thinner cometic headgasket (higher compression)= 6 hp. theres 45 realistic hp in the form of about $12,000. GOT BANK???????

i build quite a few 225whp B series street motors. you can start with a ls block, gsr block or type r. you can make all of them run fast. some will cost more then the other. if i were you i wouldnt be so concerned about how much hp it makes. but just as long as your car is fast and you can run the times you want to run and beat the cars you want. peak hp doesnt really mean anything. you should be more concerned with the overall graph and tq curve. i can build you the motor you want for cheap.just let me know. thats my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies guys. Those were my thoughts exactly on the type R, it will be damn near impossible to squeeze that much power out. The H22 is a little too heavy for autoxing, at least for me. So looks like a GSR has the most na potential? Or maybe a b16 head with a GSR block?

I'd go B20/Vtec (Actually planning on it in the summer)
or else a Ls/Vtec since it has stronger sleeves to work with for higher compression if your going all motor....
225hp is a good goal...but you should take your time getting there...don't just throw in a built motor into your 1992 Si...
