GSR Hell SWAP
Well here goes....... I have a 94 sol that i swapped a GSR into, and ever since ive had nothing but problems. To include a constant oil leak from the pan's gasket bustin all the time, my idle being so effin low the damn car turns off on its own and a really bad metal on metal grinding sound coming from the front end ( only when the car rolls)
So i say to you WTF any ideas

first of all.solve one problem at a time. if u know oil is leaking from oil pan gasket. simply replace it. idel is unstable, do u have a CEL, what kind of ecu are u running ? all ground wires are tight? iacv cleaned? no vacume leak? and bad metal grinding souds. are your axles new or in good shape?

Re: GSR Hell SWAP (crazyguy)
ive personally replaced the gasket 3 times and taken it in to get done by actual mechanics tried cork and rubber with and without sealant, they left the Stock ECU in there since it apparently no longer has a rev limiter with that combo, as for the axles well i bought the car almost four years ago from a private seller and i doubt he did anything to it either so im gonna go ahead and old *** axles in bad shape

Re: GSR Hell SWAP (SolScifi)
when did u do the gsr swap? or it came it the car 4 years ago. cause b and d series axles are different unless your del sol is vtec model
and what do u mean stock ecu? p72 ecu ?

ever think maybe the pan is bent so it can't create a good seal?
metal on metal sounds like wheel bearings
stock ecu? is this stock from a dohc del sol or a sohc?

your problem sounds simple. don't give up on the car so fast, you must practice patience.
for your idle problem, i am pretty sure it's the pcv valve. i had this problem when i did my swap as well, replace it, it's only $3.
or your leaky pan, it was already said, but if it's dented pretty bad or in the right spot, it might not seal right.
as for your noise when the car rolls, it could be a couple of things, i would need more of a detailed description.
