the c1 head has more compression, with the jdm block youll get a good amount of compression. nothing special...

the combustion chamber is smaller in the GSR head so it creates more compression. But the B16 head "flows" better

Thats why its always an arguement of B16 head (better flow) vs GSR head (more compression). IMO, the difference is minimal. Go with whatever is in better shape

the gsr head has smalller chambers, so it will raise the compression on a B16a block over the same block with B16 head, slightly

*^^beat me to it^^*

If the block has usdm ITR pistons, thats dumb. You just lowered your compression

It'll bolt up fine and everything will work.

I wouldn't recommend it though, the B16 head flows better than the GSR.

If you wanna up the ante a little just put ITR or CTR cams in it. Or just drop in the whole GSR valve train and some block work and you can hold the GSR's 8200 RPM redline.

Not sure if the block work's necessary because I don't know how many RPM the stock GSR block internals can handle.

GSR valvetrain is nothing special and a waste of time.

Why did you mention "block work" for a GSR? He has a B16 block...

Why would you put gsr valvetrain in a b16 head.

So you can gain 1-2 hp and alot of work?
