GSR engine information needed
i tried posting this in the integra forum with no luck
ok i recently found a gsr (b18c1) engine in a junk yard about an hour from my house. Now right now i do not know the condition of the engine, because i found it on the junkyards website.
but assuming its complete the engine has 99,000 miles on it. i have a few questions.
1) What kinds of things would i need to replace?
2) What are some things to look for if i go look at it.
its a 96 so that is ODB2 right?
and what would i need to get it to work in my 99 DX (non VTEC)
yes i am also searching

Re: GSR engine information needed (FifthGearOnline)
It is obd2 , so it should be a plug and play.
Replace timing belt, water pump, all fluids.

just get a tune up on the motor....it is an obd2 motor and i think you just need to wire the vtec up. or maybe it is just plug and play. hopefully you get it, i would.
do they do leakdown and compression testing there?
how much

Re: GSR engine information needed (96coupe)
i thought 97+ is obd2 for gsr's, so it won't be a plug and play.
Replace timing belt, water pump, all fluids.

Re: GSR engine information needed (igyloo)
With 99K, might want to freshen up the head surface and replace the valve seals one time. Verify that you will be getting the IAB box for the dual runners (commonly left out)
DX is wired for vtec up to the engine bay, so vtec wiring will be simple.
Also get new:
Spark plug seals, radiator hoses, cap/rotor, plug wires, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, all fluids...the usual tune up crap.
You may also want to upgrade to a double core (del sol) radiator if you live in a hot climate (100+deg F).
