Default GSR in EG problem

car was running just fine but it wouldn't turn on this morning. The battery in the car is only 3 months old so it is not that.

I jumped the car and it started just fine. Turned it off, and it would turn back on. I put that same battery in my other EG and it started just fine.

The car will only start with two batteries. Or if I hook up an extra battery directly to the starter.

It seems that it needs extra voltage to get the car started. What is the problem? The starter???

The question I am asking myself is "when a starter is going bad, does it require more voltage to work?"

When the car was turned on I disconnected the batteries to see if the car would turn off without a battery (trying to determine if the alternator was working), but the car kept running, so that tells me the alternator is fine

Sounds like a bad battery or something is draining it overnight. Do a parasitic draw test to determine.

More mechanical resistance will cause the starter to need more voltage it is possible for the starter to be going bad remove the starter and test it or take it to a auto parts store and have them test it

Check your grounds... especially the tranny to fender well.
See if you can spin any of the bolts by hand.
No loose leads.

YES!!! Do the tests for parasitic drain!!! If you don't know how to try Googling the procedure.

Did you clean you the eyelet at the loose ground.
May have high resistance. May cause the concern.
When you jump start you are using the ground. Form the other
Car. Also you may have damaged the diodes in the
Alt when you disconnected the battery when car was running.

Cranking problem, right? If so, check the rubber stopper at the top of the clutch pedal that pressed on the safety switch.

Ok so I bought a multi meter......i checked voltage on the battery and it was 12.5......I let 24 hours go by and it is still at 12.5 V

I went ahead and watched the video above and did the parasitic drain test.......the amp draw is 32 mA.

The weird thing now is that the car will not start up period, not even by jumping it with another car. Could it be the ignition? How do you troubleshoot if the ignition is bad?

The car does not crank. It just makes a clicking sound (coming from under the dash). I am totally lost now.

Any other suggestions?

what is your charging voltage? Do you have the batter relocated anywhere other then oem location? Have you replaced the power wire?

Ignition switch, clutch switch or your starter relay are the three things that will keep the car from turning over. Start in that order and see where your not getting power. Just did this with my hatch and it was a clutch safety switch.

My guess would be either the denso box behind the drivers front kick panel, or the clutch safety lockout.
ThE good thing is that you have another eg to borrow parts from.
We all assume your wiring under the hood isn't hacked or?
Good luck!

Is the motor OBDI or OBDII?
I have seen harnesses butchered, which can cause A LOT of issues.
