Re: gsr ecu question (IVAN93EG)
You can't really run the P28 unless its chipped.
I've seen a shitload of OBD1 P72s for sale on HT lol.
So yeah get either chipped P28 (for your setup/GSR) or a OBD1 P72. Both are all over ebay

Re: gsr ecu question (dohcMONSTER)
you would want to run a obd-1 gsr p72 ecu. you need the iab sensor for the gsr manifold. if you chip a p28 , then you arent gonna have the sensor to open the butterflies.

Re: gsr ecu question (fmrprojects)
You need to run the P72.. otherwise the IAB (Aka secondary Butterflies will not open) your car will run like the poo.
But if you get a new manifold.. blox, skunk, AEBS or some single stage intake manifold then yes you can run a Chipped P28

Honestly you can get a Intake manifold for around 150 or so for a blox or AEBS.</TD></TR></TABLE>
You can add IABs control to a P28

People offer services for it. If a P28 is the only ECU can afford right now, then 20-60$ to add the right hardware to the p28

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
thanx everyone. might as well get the right ecu and do it right the first time. last question .dont mean to sound like a nooby but was does IABs mean. hey jdm when you ganna do a write up on piston removal and upgrade step by step with all measurements needed. i have a z6 eg and i want to upgrade to zc pistons but i want to do it myself. if one already exists im sorry for asking. i really didnt know chit about the installation of parts on my car or alot of the do it yourself upgrades. i' been a ht user for 3 weeks and i am already about to do my first gsr swap(only swap). ht gives my the nuts and info to try it. you have my vote as a mod. thanx again

no need for me to do a engine tear down and build up.. i know there are at least 10 or 15 threads out there with plenty of pictures out there.
Also if you really want a in depth look at engine building pick up Omnimans 200whp video lots of details in there about building a Engine.
IAB is the Secondary butterflies in the GSR intake manifold

Running them permanently open will result in significant losses of low-end and mid-range (below 5800 RPM) torque.
