Exactly what luvmihatch said.
If you get a b16 you would save some money.

Use that to help you decide if you want the b16.
If not then itr and ctr are out of the question bc then you would have to lower the compression to be reliable.

h22 swap....lol...i love mine...but of course i had 3 preludes to work with to build my h22 hatch...so it didnt cost me nothing but 600 bucks for a hatch shell and i stuck my h22 swap in as well as the lude seats and what not...came out real nice...just needs paint.
But seriously...go with what u can afford/want...if u cant afford what u want...save up, or get what u can.

Boost isn't for everyone. So it should NEVER be looked at as a better way to go for the masses. Also, boost is seldom as cheap as everyone says if it is actually done halfway right.
As for which swap to get, I would DEFINITELY go for one of the 1.8 liter swaps rather than a CTR. Unless, of course, you just REALLY want a motor that revs like crazy vs more torque. If you don't have enough money for a GSR or ITR, then I would save until you do. Because if you decide to settle for something lesser, there is a 99.99999% chance you will end up kicking yourself in the behind for it. Believe me, I know. As for GSR vs ITR, I think that if you have to pay the average going rate for a swap, then the ITR is a better value. Simply put, for the ~$1000 price difference, you are going to have a VERY hard time making a GSR equal an ITR when it comes to HP, This is ESPECIALLY true if we are talking about USDM GSR vs JDM ITR, where (1) the HP difference is 30HP, and (2) there is a one point compression difference, which will make a day and night difference when it comes to the performance of any cams you decide to drop in there (and increasing compression on the GSR is going to be costly). On the other hand, you can sometimes get GSR motors and/or swaps pretty cheap. I got a GSR motor for $1000 a few years ago, for instance. If you can get your hands on something like this, then go for the GSR.

99.99999999999999% is right...dont get me wrong i love my CTR for auto-x but anything other than that and its pretty much lame. You have to drive it like you stole it in order to get the real fun out of it.

Re: (luvmihatch)
see if you can find an ls with relatively low miles and then turbo that. you could do that on a 4500 budget easy if you are ur own mechanic. and even though the ls isn't the greatest motor of all time that setup would be cheap and in a hatch u'd be faster than most cars on the road at a very little cost.

Re: (ek98)
if u wanna turbo i say b16...i've had a gsr n b16. the gsr was super quick compared to the b16, but the b16 has better flow for turbo. the b16 IMO takes the abuse better than my gsr did
