if you throw in a gsr cluster..you might as well throw in a ITR cluster bro...i like the gsr cluster but i love the ITR cluster...usdm or jdm....plus you'll get the amber unlike the gsr it lights up white....

true but the jdm clusters are expensive.. how much do the jdms usually go for.. oh and the only reason i thought about doin it is because the gsr cluster was just layin in my garage

you can find the jdm ones for at least 180 or below...i've seen alot of them here on HT...you hardly see the usdm ones though...they are usually more expensive...but if your koo with the gsr go for it...its still pretty cool to have a gsr cluster in a EG....

wiring diagrams all over this site if you just search the archives.
its probably best if you search anyway since there's several people with diagrams and half of them arent correct....
the only thing on the cluster that wont work after you do the swap will be the little maintainence light/reset since it's powered by a separate module unlike inside the cluster on the civics.
I did this swap on my old 98 civic back when I had it and my LS cluster is on the way for my 93 hatch right now along with the module for the maintainence light so I'll put up the little how-to for that once I get it in.
swapping the clusters is easy if you can do simple repair stuff, but yeah, if your friend is doing it the "right" way, then $50 sounds fair considering I get $50 to put amps in cars all day long. this is about on par.
whatever you do, dont let him do it if he's gonna cut/splice wires. He should do the pin-pull method where you pull the pins out of the connectors and swap them...so you can more easily go back to stock if you change your mind later.

Re: (92J-SpecHatch)
yeah i put it in myself. all i did was look at the back of the stock cluster and followed all the wires and on the integra cluster i did the same thing. you might want to get a haynes manuel for the civic just incase. on my integra cluster i had the get the pigtail for the cluster and then all i did was extend the wires to the stock wires in the civic. i didn't tap or cut the wires on the stock harness because i might want to go back to stock so i did it the ghetto way and just stuck the wires in the stock harness. i've ran it like that for 3 years and no problems.
Here's a day shot.....
Here you go i found this for you. hope it helps...
