^x2, however...preludes would probably be the heaviest so for me i would take that out. Then between a gsr and civic si i would say this: Its strictly opinion

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
meh. He never said what year prelude.
The 92-96 Prelude S only weighs about 2700-2800lbs. That's about as much as GS-R/EM1/Civic Ex.
My friend had a 94 Prelude S with a JDM H22A. It was about 150 million cars faster than my GSR. With my S2000 from a 15mph roll, he was only about 2 cars slower. From a stop, he was about 4 or so cars slower than my S2000.
I ran 14.0 in my S2000 with a 2.2 60' on a 90 degree day because I didn't want to launch. I'm sure that car could have done 13.7 or so.

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
I've had a 97 Prelude and a 98 Prelude and I loved them both.. they were really heavy cars but it was a well built car. Strong motor and I loved the brakes on them they were amazing. Now I have a 00 Civic Si and it's pretty decent. The B16 was kinda weak now a days but I just put the JDM GSR motor into my Si and I love it a lot. Basically what do you think looks better? Civic Si or Integra.. and it also depends on the year Si and Integra. Either of them can be built decently fast with bolt ons

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
I OWN BOTH A EM1, AND A SSBP GSR...
I CAN SAFELY SAY NONE OF THE TWO ARE ANYTHING ALIKE.
MY EM1 IS SLUGGISH DOWN LOW... NO TORQUE
MY GSR IS A BEAST FROM LOW END TO TOP END
MY EM1 SCREAMS LIKE MEXICANS RUNNING ACROSS THE BORDER ABOVE 5700RPM
MY GSR OPENS UP NICELY AT 4400RPM BUT SOUNDS LIKE A RSX THROUGHT THE POWERBAND (TOO SMOOTH) - NOT AS AGRESSIVE AS THE B16
THE GSR SUSPENSION IS TIGHTER OUT THE BOX...
BUT THEY SUSPENSION ON THE EM1 IS GREAT BECAUSE I CHANGED IT ALL
MORE ROOM IN THE EM1 THAN THE GSR (IM 6FT 2IN AND IM NOT SLIM EITHER)
OVERALL... ITS YOUR CHOICE...
THIS IS MY SSBP GSR...
[IMG][/IMG]
THIS IS MY EM1
[IMG][/IMG]
EITHER WAY... YOU WILL HAVE FUN

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
ur choices are all good. the gsr is nice being very sporty and leather interior and has the power, am EM1 is nice just because its a top of the line civic with a B series. butt i think it lacks interior, a prelude is basically top the line sports car for honda in those yrs. also has lots of power. all should be good in gas as well. and prices are all around the same. BE different. buy the prelude. not many out there being tuned.

The EM1 and GSR are pretty alike. I've owned both. Yes, the EM1 is more sluggish down low and has a more dramatic crossover.
But besides that, they're both FWD sporty versions of econocars. The GSR and EM1 actually have almost identical spring rates. However, I'll admit that the GS-R feels "tighter". Maybe because of it's smaller wheel base.
The GS-R has little interior room..and the interior is F'ing ugly.
The driving experience (besides the sound/feel of the engine) isn't exactly the same...but I wouldn't say it feels like a whole different animal either.
Obviously, the stock prelude handles better than a stock Civic or Integra.
Have you ever even gone out and driven either one of those cars? Why base your decision solely on internet forum opinions? Just because I like a certain car doesn't mean you will.
You need to be more subjective with the question. Go drive the cars. See what you like and dislike about the cars. Then ask specific questions.

Why the need to be different? There's a reason fewer people do up preludes. There are much less tuning parts available and much less tuning options available. Tuning them is also more expensive. Being different shouldn't be a big reason to buy a car. The deciding factor should be which one you actually like driving regardless of how common it is.
I have an EM1. Every time I see another one, I don't get pissed off because it's a common car. I bought one because I like driving it.

They handle pretty well...but I think that the DC2 and civic hatchback chassis' are superior in the handling after tuning department.

I've had the GSR and the Civic. I really like preludes, though. I would def. trade my EM1 for a prelude. I like the prelude's torque band. It's also a very quick car right off the bat. Plus it has much more class than a Civic. But it's up to the owner to keep it classy.

This is very important to know: The Prelude is 100% absolutely positively in NO way a SPORTS CAR. A sport coupe? yes. A sporty car? yes. A sports car? hell no. Terminology is important. You wouldn't call lettuce a cabbage just because they're both leafy greens, would you?

You're nuts.. the Gsr
3.230 1.900 1.360 1.034 0.787 3.000 4.40
The H22 LSD tranny
3.307 1.950 1.360 1.071 0.787 4.266
Then not to mention you won't be stretching the H cables.. that's a big thing that happens around here, at least if he done an H2b it would have Shift Linkages..

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
it is a plate that connects to the h22 motor and then the tranmission bolts to the plate, then the kit comes with a flywheel and everything.. it's about $1200 for the kit, but it helps the car out.. I know a guy that was running an H22 in his hatch and ran a 13.3 then put the H2b in it and ran around a 12.8 or so with it..

A stock 99-00 Civic Si.
Out of the box Si with a short ram intake = Screaaaaaaaaamer.
Get a DC2 GSR. Or if money aint the issue get a JDM DC2 Type R :D

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
i will go with 97-01 prelude, because they are faster will make or power in the long run, and the NUMBER ONE REASON, drum roll........... least likely to get stolen out of the 3 u mention...

Re: gsr civic si or prelude?
Dam my Mercedes weighs 2160 without me lol. For me Id get a GSR just so I could do a JDM front end, but really its all up to the op in the end.
