GSR Brake Booster an MC into EG...
Ok so i've read tons an tons on the rear disc swap that i did for my car, an what i read over an over was that putting a 1" MC and BB in, will require me to reflare a line or two... now this guy selling his MC and BB on ebay is saying that its a perfect bolt up install into an EG...?? Maybe someone could help clarify....

Just get a 15/16 inch master cylinder from a 91 honda civic ex sedan and be done with it.
Bolts right up and re-uses the same brake lines. Way less of a hassle.

Go with a 94-01 Integra RS master cylinder. It is 15/16" and is also a direct bolt/swap in. No modification to lines at all.

its the whole "ABS fitting" bs that youre referring to
abs fittings are 12mm
nonabs are 10mm
Doesnt really have to deal with whether or not its 1" or 15/16"
Ask the seller the size of the flare ends

yeah i heard that too, so the 91 ex 4dr MC fits in a 94 dx booster..?? nobody mentioned changing the booster, but from what im aware of the booster doesnt really make the difference its the MC..

1/16 of an inch...
theyre not identical
7/8 is 1/16th larger than the 13/16 and 1/16 smaller than 15/16, which is, you guessed it, 1/16 smaller than 1"

Boosters seldom go bad but not impossible. To test the booster: with car off pump up the pedal until stiff and hold then start car if it goes down the booster is good.
The 91 ex sedan is a direct swap and 1/16 bigger than stock. I didn't know about the RS MC being an alternative as well.

ok cool thats number 1....
number 2... civic and integra boosters arent interchangable without using the same models MC to go with it, i've learned... Now my next questions are, all civic MC's interchangable with all civic BB's..?? Like can i just pick up a 7/8" MC an put it in my stock DX booster.....?? Would a bad MC cause a BB to go bad..?? "would it be wise to replace BB while im replacing MC..?? And is there a HUGE difference in the 7/8's, 15/16's, and 1" performance wise..?? Or is it really not worth tryna rig a 1" to work, when i wont notice much difference from either of the others..?? Thanks

For the sake of simplicity.....Yes, your assumption about civic vs integra is correct.
You can use an ex/si 7/8 with your dx (actually just "civic") booster.
MC's can go bad for several reasons...mostly either from just age/wearing out or blown seals from a heavy stop.
If your BB is still good, theres no real reason to replace it.
I, however, have never heard of one going bad (doesnt mean it cant happen)
Beleive it or not, 1/16 of difference in MC's is noticable...slightly...
BUT, unless you have the calipers that require a larger MC youre just wasting it (along with it moving TOO much fluid)
Rule of thumb with brakes - dont get it unless you need it

nope they're 2 different part numbers... i thought MC's an BB's would be cheaper than what im coming across... Seems like $150+ no matter where i check...
Also, i kno that i need a non abs prop valve, but do my MC an BB have to be non ABS also..??

thats why i ask, because that says 15/16 MC an BB out of a civic ex w/ abs... I kno i need all parts for NON abs, but i thought somewhere along the line i heard it doesnt matter if the MC an BB are abs or not..

the whole reason you want to avoid abs, is because of the different fitting sizes (thought i said that before)
the ex abs unit is the same as in the integra, bb is the same too
(avoid MC's with 3 ports, as in the ebay listing you posted - you only want 2 ports)

Re: GSR Brake Booster an MC into EG... (JDM_SOHC)
Just my opinion, from seeing friends dealing with non-stop braking issues for weeks on end from MC and BB swapping... If you are running stock calipers, its not worth all of this trouble for a small amount of braking power. I swapped LS rear disc's on my EG coupe, swapped an integra porportioning valve (40/40) and my brakes work great. My buddy did the same swap on his EG hatch, and decided to put in an integra MC too, and he was out for a month and a half dealing with braking issues. If youre stepping up to some 2 piston calipers or even bigger, swap in a bigger MC. If you are using stock calipers even with aftermarket pads and rotors, stick with your stock MC. Saves the hassle and honestly, my buddys hatch (now working) doesnt stop any better than my coupe.

well see thats the thing, my stock MC is bad... so i have to replace it anyway.. thats why i was just gonna upgrade now while i have to replace it anyways u know... looks like the 91 civic ex sedans MC is gonna be the biggest one i can get for my booster...

Oh I see. Well yeah if you've got to replace the stock one anyways then you might as well upgrade, youre right. Good luck dude, hope all turns out well for you and your EG! Honda love!!!
