sounds like that ground has a weak connection. make sure the paint is scraped off under the connection, and make sure the ground is on tight.

Re: ground wire sparking!!!!!!!! (zeroracerh)
Where exactly is it arcing ("sparking")? From what point to what point? If it close to the ends and it is arcing over to the tranny it could be not only the connection from the terminal point to the tranny but also how the wire is terminated. That is the connection from the wire to that little washer crimp thingy that is attached to the wire. Check that out.
This thing, well should kinda look like that. If the wire is does not have a good crimp to this thing then it will have to arc past it. You may just need a new ground wire(s). They are cheap or if you know what you are doing you can make up some new ones or try to solder the old one.
Get back to me,
Cheers.

It's because that's the ground to the Dizzy. Make sure it's connected snug or else it'll spark. It should be connected to the tranny, my tranny didn't come with the place to put it so I rigged something up.
