Ground Control install instructions HERE!! 92-98 Civic!
My Ground Control's just arrived today and since I have access to a scanner now, I'm posting the instructions up! The pics are kind of large, sorry! They need to be actual size so all the details are visible and we cna see what we're working with. It looks as if these instrutions are generic and really intended to be installed on your stock shocks.
In the pic on the left side it says to cut the stock bumpstop in half and use the upper half (the thicker piece). What about the Bilstein HD bumpstops? Should I still cut them in half?
What about that piece above the bumpstop that says to cut and save 1 1/2" and discard the rest? I can't even remember what the hell that piece is.

If anyone has done this install post up your experiences and any tips you can offer.
Thanks!

Re: Ground Control install instructions HERE!! 92-98 Civic! (LX98Civic)
I just did this on my 94 Civic DX Coupe. The hardest part on my car was getting the damn bolts off. The rest is a piece of cake. However your car is a 98 so I doubt anything will be rusted. I took off the bumpstops completely and the factory dust covers. You don't need either of them so don't put them back on. Struts are sealed so there is no reason for the dust covers.

acutally the bumpstops should be cut in half and placed back on to the strut/shock. if the bumpstop is completely removed it could damage the strut/shock a lot. it prevents the strut/shock from compressing too much.

I jusdt installed Neuspeed sports and Bilstein HD's about 4 months ago, so I know the bolts are pretty easy to remove. We also have air tools so it's really a breeze.
My main concern at this point is using the stock bumpstop and dust boot cover on my Bilstein's. ...and then both have to be cut down. I am going to write Bilstein to see what they have to say. I know in Bilstein's instructions it states NEVER to cut the bumpstop that came with the HD's.

my rear lca bolts were messed up. Took like an hour to get them out, they had to use a blowtorch.

about the Bilstein HD bumpstops.. I would trim them in half as well because they were not specificly designed for a lowered car were they? --> I mean they arent shortened are they? probably not, I would cut the bumpstops.
Always leave some bumpstop in there also, you should not run a car without any bumpstops, you run the risk of literally blowing the shock by hammering the shaft into/thru the bottom, OUCH!
