Default Ground Control Coilover Set Screw Seized

What's the easiest solution for this?

Not looking to spend a ton of money, but need to get my collars to spin down a bit.

Kosher to just run collars from eBay coilovers while retaining my Eibach springs from the Ground Controls?

yeah that's fine. You can try soaking the GC collars in PB Blaster and such.

You could deffinetly run ebay sleeves, assuming you aren't runing koni's.

Last time I heard of this, the soaked them in pb blaster and it worked.

Thanks guys.

These collars are old so I doubt the PB trick would work.

Same exact problem I had on my 98 hatch. Rear passenger had no intention of loosening up. Ended up having to tap it w/ a screw removal set. I've since ditched the GC's & went simple; OEM dampers w/ Tein S-techs. Ahh, feels so good.

Good Luck

The easiest solution may not be the best...

Your only as strong as your weakest link, so if your running koni/GC and you want a reliable car for auto-x or you depend on your car for your livelyhood.

Then I suggest you bite the bullet and do things proper.

When I had this problem I cut the set-screw with a dremel, and put on a brand new collar.

Good luck, and keep us posted with how you eventually corrected the problem.
