Grinding noise when car is moving. Wheel bearing?
This all started last night when I hopped in my car to go to Wendies, second I started to back up, I herd this god awful grinding sound (wasn't there when I parked it the night before)
On my drive to work today it was still there, I'm kind of confused on what it could be. You know those rain sticks you would always play with at the discovery store? It sounds just like that. It only happens when the car is going 1 - ~50mph, and doesn't change pitch or tone during that time. It happens in reverse as well, and RPM doesn't seem to effect it.
Wheel bearing is my best guess, but maybe I'm wrong (I hope I am, wheel bearings = labor)

The noise is fairly loud, loud enough to where you need to raise your voice to talk to somebody.

Well it sounds to be more than likely your wheel bearing. Its not that bad, your looking at about 2 hours and 80 bucks to fix it since a machine shop has to press it in.

Re: (wob)
wheel bearings usually change with vehicle speed and it would have to be really bad to hear it in reverse. Do you feel any vibrations in your brake pedal or steering wheel? I don't know what a rain stick sounds like, but bearings make a "woob, woob, woob" sound.

Re: (hplssone)
the reason I ask about a brake pedal vibration, is it's a sign that maybe the noise is coming from something rubbing the rotors. Your brake pedal will vibrate if you need new rotors.

Re: (hplssone)
ive had a small pebble shoot up and get stuck between the pad and rotor and then imbedded itself in the pad but stuck out a little, it took a couple weeks to wear away, it made a god awful grinding sound
