Grinding from 1st-2nd

Grinding from 1st-2nd
Does anyone else have this problem? I was planning on purchasing a short shifter but I really dont feel like tearing up my gears becuase they grind every time I shift quickly. I auto-x and it seems like almost every time I launch and go to second it grinds. 
Anyone have any advice for me? I plan on changing the tranny fluid to see if that will help.

my gsr does the same thing.
you can try some gm syncromesh(sp) fluid. some people say it fixes it...in my case it didnt.
i ordered the 1st/2nd gear syncro set from len and plan on replacing it soon.
