I'm not even going to argue this.

he asked for safety equipment by color , that was my problem,
besides the Takatas dont have 5 points unless you order it

NASA wont even let anyone on track with 4 points because they are unsafe.

argue that green is the silent killer?

he asked for safety equipment by color , that was my problem,
i see, just don't see why you would get all worked up instead of address that issue.

besides the Takatas dont have 5 points unless you order it

NASA wont even let anyone on track with 4 points because they are unsafe.
so, order the 5th point then.
lots of companies don't includ the anti-sub belt. why should takata be any different?

just because its safety equipment doesnt mean he cant look for it in a specific color, do you reply the same way when people look for different colors of helmets, where to powdercoat a rollcage, ect..??

The problem is he`s buying harnesses for the "look". That`s where the Doc is coming from. If he was the type of person that actually needs harness he`d know where to look and we wouldn`t be discussing this.

Thanks N1EK and dmotoguy, finally someone besides me that sees a couple of these big name members as the *** hatter saftey ****'s that they really ******* are.

I am tired of seeing members belittled because they want to do something to their car that another member deems stupid or declares unsafe. I dont see these same members out there protesting guns, breaking up ecstasy sales, lowering speed limits, are stopping traffic for crosswalks.

Lets face it, there are MANY MANY MANY more dangers in the world then saftey harness's, properly or improperly mounted. Your all so ******* over opinionated because you road race in a large club and the rule books say you can or cant do this or that. **** man, maybe he isnt even buying it to race with, what if he wants it for show and continues to use the OEM belts while having the harness's installed? That would explain why he wants green belts but doesnt want to fork over the cash for a race proven setup. Who gives a **** what the intended use, he did not ask for your opinions on saftey nor did he care to hear the same **** that continually spews from your mouth.

Not everbody has the cash to hook up their cars the way the H-T deems appropriate. I dont know why you feel it your duty to be pushing your feelings on other members. Its nice to get their back but to put it in such a fashion that makes them look incompetant is ******* rediculous. And they want to nominate some of your opinion pressing ***'s for moderators? **** man, leave the war on saftey harness's and harness bars alone. We all know you think you've got the best way to do things, people will ask for help/opinions when they want it.

Good Day

Settle down, Newbie. It`s a forum, we are allowed to give him our opinion wether he wants it or not.

Throwing harnesses in a show car is like polishing a turd. That`s MY opinion.

There are MANY MANY dangers in this world, you are right, but how many do you have control of? This is one. Putting something in your vehicle that is not safe is ingnorant.

Settle down, Newbie.
Good one: "Slurp56 has been a member for 517 days."

It`s a forum, we are allowed to give him our opinion wether he wants it or not.
There is a difference with expressing your opinion and belittling a member for an idea, good or bad. It is MY opinion that some big name members are over bearing *** hatter saftey ****'s.

Throwing harnesses in a show car is like polishing a turd. That`s MY opinion.
Maybe he thinks its cool, what makes your opinion so much more special? Plus I really wasnt directing it at you, its doc cortez or whatever because he has this arrogant stick up his *** attitude about it. Observed for several months on this subject.

There are MANY MANY dangers in this world, you are right, but how many do you have control of? This is one. Putting something in your vehicle that is not safe is ingnorant.
I am not going to sit and argue, but putting access to a cell phone into a car is just as, if not more, dangerous because collisions based on cell phone usage is much more popular than bodily injury due to racing harness's installed and the vehicle rolled and crushed the driver.

Being here for 517 days and only having 90 posts tells me:

1. You don`t participate in this forum enough to pass judgement on the doc
2. You probably only come to honda-tech to sell ****

Again, in this forum there is the possibility that you will get each and every members opinion wether you like it or not. Take it or leave it.

alright..i come back in.
doc's reponse was in no way helpful.
that's why i bugged him.
but i'm glad people care about whether or not i put my safety device in correctly.
i feel it could be done with a less agressive, combative tone then this guy got.
i'm sure doc knows what he's talking about.(isn't he the one that installed a swaybar backwards?)

i didn't know they made *** hats.

really though, slurp56, i think you are over-reacting yourself. dr. cortez said:

how is he an ******* for being concerned for someone's safety? maybe telling him that he should just get them and roll his car and smash his head would be less ******* of him? i think perhaps he over-reacted because this is a fairly common topic on this board that a lot of people do not understand the danger involved. of course, the question asker has not even replied so why are you getting so defensive for him when you have no idea what intention he has for the harnesses?

fairly common, but obviously not to the guy that posted the question?
and i see wanting someone to install harnesses correctly...but installation never played into this thread...just color.
and i notice doctor cortez ducked out too.

You couldnt be farther from the truth.

#1 Not saying much does not mean not knowing much. I've seen enough to form an opinion, and I am a very unopinionated guy.

#2 I have only sold 1 car part ever, and it was not over Honda-tech.

You tell those damn non post ******!!! How dare they try and add indormation to a flame war!!!

As for the harnesses, who cares what color harness he gets??? As long as the harness is SFI approved, then what is the problem? Takata demands a premium price for several reasons, including being Hondas OE seatbelt supplier. OMP, Sparco, Sabelt all make excellent 3" harnesses. As for the submarine belt, no company that I know of includes it, unless it is specified for.

My biggest bitch on harnesses is the lack of proper install. Too many people have more than 10 degrees on their shoulder belts, and fail to mount their lap belts properly. I have seen many people mount the shoulder belts to the rear seat mounting bolts, ensuring a very painful colorbone break when they crash. FOLLOW THE LINES OF FORCE PEOPLE!!!! It really isn't that hard.
