Default Greddy turbo kit for sohc vtec question

Hey guys, Im in the market for more power from my d16Y8 powered delSol Si. I was pretty much set on getting the greddy turbo kit and adding an intercooler and BOV for around $1700 plus $250 installation. I need to know from greddy kit owners or people that have driven a greddy kit powered civic ex or delSol si if The money is worth it. Im not looking for a quarter mile monster. just some extra pep on the streets. if i could hang with lightly modded civic si and integra gsr i would be happy. Will this do it, or should i save a little longer for a pricier b16, b18 or h22 swap?

since u dont want a track monster i would boost instead of swapping. but i would do a junkyard turbo setup and save the money. all your paying for is the name and once u buy an intercooler its not legal anyways. put out the $ for a better turbo and tuning...just my 2 pennies

its not illegal if he gets a greddy/trsut intercooler , but i would go homemade/junkyard as well, the greddy kit is very good for a beginner since it comes with everything you need and there is no worry something will be left out (neglecting mispackaging ect). And a greddy kit at 10 psi should put you in the 13's

i thought if u bought an intercooler, even if it was greddy, it voids the legality and ****. i ono id rather have edlebrock, it puts out more hp

1500 for the kit,700 for the intercooler kit, 150 for the bov, and 500 fora profec-e01 (if he is going all greddy) and a 12 month warranty... for 2800 bucks or so, i mean there is lots of room for improvement but b18's are overrated

greddy says 2500 for the kit, 1000 for intercooler kit, 250 plus for bov and 500 for fuel management and then another 500 to get it tuned plus 250 for install

thats 5000

seems like a little bit too much for a d. u could have ls turbo and be in low 13s high 12's easily with that much

ebay has the for 1500 shipped all day, samewitht the intercooler kit for around 500-700 depending, and who buys the BOV for 250, every place i haev seen has the RS for around 200 shipped and you could pick up an old type-s or whatever for 120ish

ohh and the kitscome with the e-manage i beleive now, but i could be wrong, but then again the profec-e01 has that built in and everything, and he cant tune it himself

ok, let me explain a little better. I already have the intercooler, it is actually a top mount design but I plan on mounting it right next to my radiator(it fits just fine) I have a shop that quoted me $250 for the kit install AND intercooler mounting with custom piping. I also have the boost gauge already. I am going to run the 92-95 kit, already quoted $1500 for that, and the BOV will run between $150-$200. So im looking at a high estimate of $2000 out the door done. I believe the kit runs set at 5.5 psi, which i can probably kick up to 6 or eventually take up to 7 or 8 psi with down the road engine/fuel management. But this is my daily driver so im hoping the 5.5psi will keep me happy since it will be the easiest on my engine. And i already had my exhaust installed with custom 2.5" piping since i planned on boosting.

since you're set on it do it. But I would rather build my own kit, get better power(if desired), and save money. Other than the price, you can't go wrong w/ a kit that's prefabbed by a reputable company.

turbo D will ***** a 99-00 SI or a GSR with bolt ons (i/h/e) both those cars are low 15 second cars at the fastest. A turbo D at 9-11 psi will be in the 13's all day long.

I got the Greddy kit payed $1500 for the kit NEW, got an I/C for $220 shipped brand new and a Turbo XS BOV for $70 shipped used and the DSM 450cc inj for $60 shipped used as well. Thats well under $2k. Tuned the kit can make well over 200whp at 8psi. I had small problems at the dyno that didnt let me make the max power I wanted. It wasnt the turbo. But at one run we did 205whp at around 7.5 psi. This was at Church Tuning. One problem was that I didnt correctly torque down the manifold and we had a manifold leak, the other was what it looks like the crome software I am using. Im still looking to solve my small problems. But ya this kit is worth it for the Turbo Newbe's. Ive learned alot after I installed this kit that I will be currently building a Turbo kit for a friend soon, it wont be greddy though.

I was gonna turbo my y8 but traded the car. I've got a brand new greddy turbo kit for the 92-95 civic ex. I've also got many other turbo parts and JRC intercooler. Im askin 1400 for the kit.
