Greddy SP2

Re: Greddy SP2 (raymondcleung)
as with most exhaust on non turbo cars u can expand average of 2-6 whp gain over the rpm range expecially with the sp2 with other exhaust you could probably expect 8 whp up top because most of the are built to be linear with the power but the sp2 is built to increase mid range power

I have greddy sp for my eg and it is 2 an 1/4 inch piping therfor not very loud and not much power gain as some of the other exhausts

I have a Greddy SP2 and I can assure you that you gain exponentially from a stock exhaust system. Granted I was running a 1 3/8" stock CX exhaust for a few months off my b18c1. I matched the sp2 with a DC JDM mild steel 4-1 header and the car is MUCH faster, torquier.
I guess I have nothing to compare it to, and I would like to know what the difference would be b/n it and a 2.5", but I'm very very satisfied.
Also--in response to the last post the SP2 is NOT 2 1/4" (maybe the SP was, but that steel exhaust is no longer available). The SP2 is stainless and it is 2 3/8", which is only 1/8 of an inch smaller than 2.5". There's probably no noticeable difference in power on the road, maybe a fractional difference on a Dyno.
The sound is good. Quiet at low rpms, throaty in the mids and SCREAMING up past VTEC.
Good luck. PS make sure to get the right flanges on your CAT..i got a carsound from kteller.com and the flange had to be altered a bit.

Re: Greddy SP2 (Blazin Civic)
Blazin Civic, if you think that b18c1 swap in a civic with a JDM DC 4-1 header with a 2.5" collector, a high flow cat, and a Greddy exhaust 2 3/8" won't be MUCH faster than with a stock gsr manifold, small cat, and stock 1 3/8" civic cx exhaust, you are sorely mistaken and should not post comments that do not even attempt to answer the question sought out by the first post.

Re: Greddy SP2 (jlsmi2)
I have the greddy sp2 on my 93 sol with b18b swap, I wouldn't call it quiet when matched with a free flowing cat. I noticed very little hp gain, the stainless steel tubing is a bit heavy but nice bling bling and has very nice deep sound for a sport compact. makes most noise around 3 grand then quietens down until 4500 or so. It's good for a car you want to ride in and still be able to have a conversation going down the road with the top off.
