Default Greddy on D16y7

Hey guys, looking to put my Greddy Kit on a d16y7, but need to know about the exhaust setup.... I already got a y8 intake mani to make sure the intake piping fits, and I know how to run it all right up to the turbo....I can see that the downpipe wont bolt right up to the exhaust, and since I live in a carb state, Ive gotta have a catalytic converter. Anybody running this and care to tell me what you've done??? I was thinking about having the downpipe rewelded to bolt up to the stock exhaust with a high flow cat to a 3 inch custom setup. The only thing is that Im a little broke to get all the custom exhaust done right now, so is there any way to run a catalytic converter instead of the downpipe???? Thanks a ton guys!

Edit: Also, does anybody know about this new OBDM stuff and if I can pass with the greddy kit...I know its carb legal.....but that was for eg civics..... (and Ive searched)

1st off. You cannot use the Cat instead of the down pipe. The cat connects to the Down pipe and then to the exhaust. that's it.

2nd. CARB means California Air Resources Board. The only CARB state is California. (Lucky you) Because that turbo kit is not legal in Cali on anything other than a 92-95 EX.

Thanks Spade...now on to my next question, since that turbo is CARB legal,...would I be able to pass emissisons since the CARB stuff is so tough?? And as for an exhaust, would I have to have a downpipe, to a cat, then custom piping???

I got the same setup, just gonna run the downpipe to the piping of the exhaust. Since the Greddy kit is not carb legal on 96up Civics, might as well run it with no cat for more power.

i got a 97 with the 92-95 kit, because of that its not carb legal but i think greddy just released a 96-00 kit for the engine so you might be in luck. but im not sure what the set up will have to be for that kit.

I was thinking about doing the same, only if they make a bolt on kit that is CARB legal for the 96-98 model. I have a 98 civic with the d16y7, I want to turbo it, but I want it to be legal, does Drag or Rev-Hard make a kit? If not I think I might go with a Jackson Racing supercharger, but I have heard bad stories about them.
If you find a kit, let me know.
