Grade Logic. Need answers.
Aye peeps.
I done an extensive search for information reguarding Grade Logic in Honda's cars here on this board and got 3threads with unanswered questions.
Who know somethign about it?
i want to know when Honda started putting it into their cars (year)...

I know for sure that the 6th gen civic 4-spd automatic had it in 1996. Whether it was an option or standard in the AT, I don't know. But it was available for 1996.
Some info about Grade Logic Control (talks about a CR-V but should function similarly):
"But what's a Grade Logic Control System? We're glad you asked. First of all, it's standard on all '97 Hondas equipped with an automatic. Going downhill, the transmission will downshift if the driver applies the brakes, providing engine braking and creating less wear on the regular brakes. And for uphill climbs in the CR-V, we found the system selecting lower gears, making better use of the 2-liter engine's 126 available horsepower. This system gives the transmission some of the leverage of a manual, making the automatic more user-friendly than ever before. "
