any of you guys with older hb's have rust on your vehicles? if so what should i go to get rid of it or just live with it? it is not too much but when ever it rains it is going to get hit with water bc it is located by the water channel.

yea man mine is like that too.... its bad on my passenger side and its getting bad on my drivers side... the way it happens is because of that molding on the edge of the wheel well... that haols in moister and causes it to rust.. pull those off

Correct, but it was too late for my eg, what i did (still doing) is cut out the rust, put it some sheet metal, use rivets to make it hold, put some fiber glass and start sanding, then put on some bondo and continue to reshape the surface untill it's perfect, then primer and paint. Primer should show any mistakes that you made, if you fucked up, go back and redo it, it's a pain in the ***, but it will help the rust from spreading.

Yup. Welcome to the 92-95 Civic rust life... They all get it.

Me, I'm going to replace the entire rear quarters on my car with OEM panels...

Until then... Expanding foam in a can...

Spray the foam in the hole to prevent water from getting in, wait for it to dry, cut off the excess, and primer over it...

Hey, it works.

I have it on the inside of the fender wells in the rear, too, both sides. Took a dremel and sander to the rust, reshaped the inside edge with bondo, primered + painted over it. Ok for now, everytime i wash the car I remove the fender trim and wash it separately as well.

i vouch for that technique, on my first car (Nissan Pathfinder) i had a lot of rust on the running boards right in front of rear wheel wells. I filled the space up with foam, let it dry, cut excess off, only with me, after that I used some bondo to get it smooth again. Then I just painted it black and it actually looked good, like it was supposed to be there. Try it!

This is something you defintely dont want to do a halfass job on.
My '92 hatch i bought from chicago had rust bad...

I took it to Malibu body shot and they cut the rust out and sandblasted the whole panels and rust primered the new panels and welded them everything was paint for a total of 1200.00 with a gurantee it wouldnt come back...I'll post pics in a second..

Before:

After:

Pics were taken in my darkass basement.
Please excuse the blurryness/color/**** quality I just took the pics with a Picture phone.

*edit* i have no clue why that one pic turned out pink..
